Yes, the BBS High School has its own art gallery! Last year marked the inaugural year of the BBS Art Gallery that has featured a total of 10 exhibitions that showcase high school student artworks in room 106 of the HS building 3. It's a fantastic opportunity for students to display their creativity and talent!
The BBS Art Gallery positively impacts students in several ways:
Enhanced Creativity: By showcasing their work, students are encouraged to express themselves creatively and explore new artistic techniques.
Boosted Confidence: Exhibiting their art helps build self-esteem, as students receive recognition for their efforts and talents.
Critical Thinking: Curation and presentation require students to think critically about their work and that of their peers, fostering deeper engagement with the artistic process.
Community Engagement: The gallery creates a platform for students to share their art with the broader school community, strengthening connections and appreciation for the arts.
Skill Development: Students gain practical experience in curating, organizing exhibitions, and communicating their artistic vision, which are valuable skills for future academic and professional endeavors.
Inspiration: Exposure to diverse artworks can inspire students, encouraging them to push their creative boundaries and explore new ideas.
Curation of the exhibits provides a valuable learning opportunity for IB Visual Arts students, allowing them to practice and prepare for their upcoming IB Art exhibit. This hands-on experience enhances their skills in organization, presentation, and critical evaluation of artwork.
After all HS staff votes were counted, we’re excited to announce this year’s winning team as... Grade 12 Romero Britto
